Renowned adventurer Allan Quatermain leads a team of extraordinary figures with legendary powers to battle the technological terror of a madman known as "The Fantom." This "League" comprises seafarer/inventor Captain Nemo, vampiress Mina Harker, an invisible man named Rodney Skinner, American secret service agent Tom Sawyer, the ageless and invincible Dorian Gray, and the dangerous split personality of Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. In an alternate Victorian Age world, a group of famous contemporary fantasy, science fiction, and adventure characters team up on a secret mission. I have seen this film on DVD twice in the past day and conclude that -

the story line (historical context) lacks credibility (eg Captain Nemo's guided missiles); - the acting is great, Sean Connery in particular; - the fx are superb (such as the black and white views of 1899 London; - the fight scenes are well choreographed and exciting; - the sets and costume are excellent. In short, the film is exceptionally well made. So what about my opening comment on story line? Well, a film that includes science fiction/horror literary characters such as Dorian Gray, Jekyll/Hyde, the Invisible Man etc., is clearly a work of true fantasy. Therefore it, in my opinion, has licence to deviate from true historical context and can be (and is) "incredible". Well done - a good film to chill in front of and just enjoy (but not take too seriously).

LXG was entertaining but was a bit too much of Hollywood action, the first appearing of Allen Quartermain (Connery) we see him kill 4-5 men as they all miss killing with machine guns and Connery dives headfirst over a table, his punches in the movie were sensational, Indiana Jones bashes so to speak and was tough as nails in an action mode, he was "quite the naughty scotty," Sean Connery is 73 years young. Yes he carried the movie but he was the Exec. Producer on the film, he gave the people what they wanted, entertainment and action but hollywood style, hard too understand, a bit, a few causes without effects and effects without causes, unfortunate the critics bashed it, I give it 2 and a half stars. A stiff. I don't know the comic book series, but it could hardly be as lifeless as this leaden adaptation, in which the weapons have more personality than the characters and the nonstop action often feels like no action at all. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a comic book series written by British writer Alan Moore, illustrated by Kevin O'Neill, and launched in 1999 as part of the America's Best Comics imprint of Wildstorm Comics. British screenwriter James Dale Robinson adapted the comics for the screen. They are all characters from fictional novels and include:

Allan Quatermain [Sean Connery], an English big game hunter introduced in the King Solomon's Mines novels of British author H. Rider Haggard.

Captain Nemo [Naseeruddin Shah], a scientific genius who roams the depths of the sea in his submarine, the Nautilus, in two of French author Jules Verne's novels Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870) and The Mysterious Island (1874).

Mina Harker [Peta Wilson], the wife of Jonathan Harker, a solicitor who traveled to Transylvania to sell London properties to Count Dracula and later lived to regret it in the novel Dracula (1897) by Irish author Bram Stoker.

Dorian Gray [Stuart Townsend], a character created by Irish author Oscar Wilde in The Picture of Dorian Gray (1891). Dorian's picture grows older but Dorian does not.

Rodney Skinner, The Invisible Man [Tony Curran], a thief who apparently stole the invisibility formula from the invisible man of English author H.G. Wells' 1897 novel of the same name (still under copyright).

Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde [Jason Flemyng], from Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886), a novella written by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson.

Special agent Tom Sawyer [Shane West] of the American Secret Service. From the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain although, in that novel, he is only a young boy No. Skinner mentions that he stole the formula from a scientist, most likely referring to the original Invisible Man. The reason for the change is because another company owned the rights to that character, whose original name is Hawley Griffin. No. Dorian Gray is killed by Mina Harker. Quatermain is stabbed in the back by Professor Moritarity. However, the movie ends with a witch doctor casting a spell over Quatermain's grave.No. In May 2015 it was announced the film is to get a reboot.Yes. Connery retired from show business after The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, however he continued to do some voice acting, playing the title character in the animated short Sir Billi (2012) (2012). He calls himself the Fantom, but he turns out to be Professor James Moriarty. a5c7b9f00b The Millionaires' Unit telugu full movie downloadVikings: Athelstan's Journal full movie in hindi free download mp4A Stormy Night tamil dubbed movie free downloadWay Out West dubbed hindi movie free download torrentThe Italian Job downloadModule Overseer full movie in hindi 720p downloadtamil movie Tiny Tank free downloadAnd Justice for All full movie in hindi download21 Jump Street song free downloadBlitz movie in hindi dubbed download
